Procesorul ( CPU ) este unitatea
central de prelucrare a informatiei, fiind practice creierul PC -ului.
Procesoarele au avut o evolutie impresionanata de-a lungul timpului, acestea
suferind schimbari drastice din toate punctele de vedere. Acest articol isi
propune sa parcurga etapele importante din istoria procesoarelor.
Termenul CPU este folosit in
industria PC -urilor inca de la inceputul anilor 60’ . De atunci forma,
implementarea s-a schimbat radical, insa rolul si functionarea de baza raman in
mare parte aceleasi.
Intel Coropartion este o companie
Americana, cea mai mare companie de semiconductoare din lume si care care a
inventat seria de procesoare x86, procesoare gasite in multe calculatoare de
tip PC.
CPU este elementul principal al unui
sistem de calcul; cipul semiconducator, care este plasat pe placa de baza
numita motherboard, este de obicei
foarte foarte complex, putand ajunge sa contina milioane de mici tranzitoare.
Concluzie : CPU asigura procesarea
instructiunilor si datelor, atat a celora din sistemul de operare al sistemului,
cat si a celora din aplicatia user-ului si anume le interpreteaza, prelucreaza
si controleaza, executa sau supravizeaza transferurile de informatii si controleaza activitatea generala celorlaltor
elemente care alcatuiesc un sistem de calcul.
